(1)Strengthen professional competence integrating basic medical sciences and clinical expertise to cultivate compassionate physicians capable of delivering holistic care.
(2)Enhance problem-analysis and smart-innovation capabilities to cultivate compassionate physicians required for an aging society and the digital-smart generation.
(3)Reinforce professionalism and a healthy, proactive outlook on life to cultivate compassionate physicians endowed with both skill and virtue, service enthusiasm, and medical ethics.
(4)Integrate humanities education into medical education to cultivate patient-centered compassionate physicians who are eager to serve in areas with insufficient medical resources.
(5)Strengthen medical technology and cross-disciplinary thinking to cultivate compassionate physicians equipped with technological literacy, an international perspective, and a commitment to lifelong self-learning.
Development Directions and Vision
The School of Medicine takes becoming a key stronghold in Taiwan for cultivating holistic care medical students as its mission and development direction. It aims to cultivate students into compassionate physicians rich in humanistic care and technological literacy to fulfill the healthcare workforce needs in underserved areas, with the ultimate goal of achieving Taiwan's vision of "Healthcare Without Geographic Disparities." Furthermore, it seeks to realize the College of Medicine's vision of advancing excellence in medical education and research grounded in humanities and technology, enhancing the quality of healthcare, and promoting human health and well-being.
